It’s a constant problem in the summer. The kitchen is a whirlwind of activity with kids coming and going. In the midst of all of that coming and going they (and their friends) are constantly eating. This results in many, many trips to the grocery store, a continual mess in the pantry and refrigerator as well as lots of dirty dishes being accumulated. It’s hard to keep up!

Before the kids are home for the summer, set up an organizational system. Walk them through it and watch how much cleaner your kitchen will stay this summer and how few questions you hear come from the kitchen ….{“mom, where’s the…..?}!

Try using all the same kind of storage container in the pantry (like these Snapware Canisters) and labeling them (with something like chalkboard labels). Then kids won’t make a mess of all the boxes!
